Australian theme parks appeal to a wide variety of ages and are sure to make a holiday even more memorable.  There are quite a few theme parks that call Australia home, but there are definitely 5 that stand out more than the others.  4 out of the top 5 theme parks are located on what is known as the Queenland’s Gold Coast so it is advisable to make sure this area is included in the Australia holiday packages that are purchased.
First up for the Australian theme parks is Sea World.  Like the name implies, Sea World is a marine mammal theme park that also includes a very large scale aquarium.  The theme park also includes rides and other attractions and focuses on education and restoration of mammals that have been sick or injured.  One of the popular exhibits at Sea World is “Shark Bay” which allows sharks to be observed both in the water and above the water in different viewing areas. The Bermuda Triangle is the most popular ride in the park and replaced another ride in 1994.  And there is a water plume ride that is extremely popular at the Sea World theme park.

For the movie buffs in a group, Warner Bros Movie World is another popular theme park in Australia.  Also located on the Gold Coast, Movie World is based almost entirely on movies and has rides focused on them as well as movie character look a-likes walking around the park.  There is an active film studio located within the park that has produced movies in association with Warner Bros studios.  The Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster and Wild West Falls are among the top rides at Movie World theme park.

A holiday isn’t complete without involving water and this is where Australia’s Wet’n'Wild Water World comes into play on an Australia holiday package.  It’s the number one water park in Australia and thought to be the 8th most popular water park in the world.  No matter what time of year one visits Australia, this water park is open and even heated during the winter months.  Lines are sure to abound on the top slides like the Tornado funnel slide, the Blackhole slide where riders do much of the slide in the dark, and the Kamikaze which is both a wet and dry slide.

Although not as big or as popular as Sea World, UnderwaterWorld in Queensland is another theme park to add to the list.  It is a mammal themed park, animal rescue park, and has an oceanarium.  It gained a lot of attention in 2006 for having a Giant Squid on display and encased in ice and was the scene of the Jackie Chan movie Police Story 4.  Attendees of this park will enjoy more of a zoo experience along with animal related shows and displays.

In Western Australia, Adventure World is the theme park to visit.  It is closed each winter but during the rest of the year it is home to 23 rides and attractions.  Rides include water rides, bumper cars, monorail, sky ride and a pirate ship.
